The personal-computer giant Jack Tramiel built — "computers for the masses, not the classes." HQ West Chester, PA. Made the Commodore PET (1977, one of the founding trinity of home computers with the Apple II and TRS-80), the VIC-20, and the Commodore 64 — the best-selling single computer model ever (~12.5M+ units), on the MOS Technology 6502 (its own PA chip division). Acquired Amiga in 1984. Overlooked read: the best-selling PC in history came out of suburban Philadelphia, not Silicon Valley. Defunct 1994.
